Notable changes
In some cases the Smartfield Icon was finding its way inside inappropriate fields such as a “search” or “comment” fields. It is now only displayed in fields where it serves a purpose such as “password” and “user ID” fields. This way it stays non-intrusive, but is available whenever users need to generate credentials or retrieve the ones already stored in their Managers.
A link to the section “Reset Master Key” in the user’s My Account page has been added to the pop-up window that requests it, in case users get stuck and don’t remember their Master Key. However, by design and for security reasons, resetting one’s Master Key renders all the data previously encrypted with it unreadable. It does allow the user to restart and keep on using the product, though.
Notable bug fixes
Credentials were sometimes not saved when creating an account on facebook.com.
On batchgeo.com, the Smartfield Icon did not offer to retrieve an alias email address, even though it had been generated and was saved in the Alias Manager.
Multiple issues with creating and retrieving credentials on lemonde.fr have been fixed.
The “search by data” feature in the Data Manager has been fixed.
Known issue
expedia.com has a bug that blocks the creation of an account with an alias email address on some devices. This is not linked to the validity of the alias though, and you can use the same alias to create an account from a different device.
Notable changes
Quick actions are now available directly from the Home screen of the device. It is now possible to add an account in the Password Manager or a piece of data in the Data Manager and to generate an alias email address, all without opening the app. To access this shortcut, find the Pocket Geek ID icon on your Home screen and apply a “long press” to make the drop-down menu with the list of quick actions appear.
Data collection is only available from our browser extension (i.e., on desktops) and users can choose to disable the feature from there. Messages have been added on mobile to inform users of the feature’s status in order to make sense of the Dashboard’s graphs that need collection to be ON to display relevant information.
A “sort by” functionality has been added to the Password and Alias Managers.
An appropriate error message is now displayed when users try to create a duplicate account. They then have the option to be redirected to their Password Manager to check (and edit if needed) the account that already exists for the said company with the same User ID.
When an Android application is moved to the background, the device’s operating system takes a screenshot of the application in order to display it in the “application overview” menu. If the user is accessing sensitive data at that precise moment, it threatens the security of this data. To avoid this, Pocket Geek ID has found a workaround to ensure no sensitive data is displayed at this time.
